Exeter, NH Chapter – March Newsletter

3/15/25: ​​WMCU Exeter NH Chapter, Vice President ​​— Claire Xiao organized community and schoolwide efforts with Albert Zhu, Andrew Su and Evan Fan toward a food donation drive at the Wilkonson Center Food Pantry in Lee, New Hampshire. A generous assortment of non-perishable foods, paper products, shampoos, soaps, and women’s hygiene products were collected.

3/16/25: WMCU Exeter NH Chapter, Vice President ​​— Claire Xiao organized,  in collaboration with Andrew Su and Albert Zhu distributed items onto shelves for shopping convenience, categorized and packaged non-perishable goods and hygiene products, and prepared meal bags that will serve 30+ families in the local area. They additionally assembled meal bags for individuals unable to access the food pantry.

Every month or so, the Wilkinson Center organizes a special meal kit for families. This month, the special is a seasonal soup. Students bagged and measured out all the ingredients for the potato soup into small individual packages. These kits will be provided to 30 families.

3/18/25: WMCU Exeter NH Chapter, Vice President ​​— Claire Xiao organized with Andrew Su, Albert Zhu and Evan Fan coordinated another food donation drive. Returns consisted of snack bars, breakfast bars, snack crackers, cereals, hearty soups, coffee, paper products, and personal hygiene products: soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, and razors. Items weighed in at 158 pounds total.

3/19/25:WMCU Exeter NH Chapter, Vice President ​​— Claire Xiao organized a food donation event. Products were delivered to the (Newmarket Community Church) NCC’s Food Pantry in Newmarket, New Hampshire. This initiative aims to support local families in the region by providing essential food and household items. Claire Xiao, Albert Zhu and Andrew Su unpacked items and worked diligently to sort them into various categories before shelving them.
            Other donations included toys, utensils, cooking equipment, plates, bowls, cups, etc. These items were brought to the NCC Thrift Shop which is a store that provides affordable options for families and individuals. Pictured is the basement which plays an essential role in cleaning, maintenance, pricing, and ultimately making sure that shoppers are getting access to well-kept products. They are then moved upstairs to be displayed among the rest of the shop’s inventory.

3/20/25: WMCU Exeter NH Chapter, Vice President ​​— Clair Xiao organized.  Returning to the NCC Thrift Shop, Claire Xiao, Albert Zhu and Andrew Su set out to support their community. With their arms full of charitable collections from the community, Brianna Hou and Evan Fan, they brought bags full of second-hand as well as unused clothing, shoes, and accessories. The items were thoughtfully collected to assist households and mindfully ensured that families of various backgrounds and diverse sets of ages could find something suitable for their needs.

            By supplementing households with these essential items, volunteers hope to help alleviate some of the challenges families and individuals face in their area.
